My husband and I are beginning the process of buying our first home. Tonight we had our first appointment with the realtor to look at three homes that we were curious about. The first one was just kind of ehhh. The second house on our list we decided not even to go inside because the exterior needed so much work and the third must have sold because there was no sign in the yard and no realtor key for us to go inside. So not a very productive evening, hopefully next time will go better.
I will continue to tell myself not to feel stress about this, we will find the perfect home for our family!

I don't call it a failure. I call it learning what you and your husband wants. Take your time and make sure the house has a new roof. Know more then 8 years old 2. Have a 16 penny nail in hand for the out side of the house and poke around for dry-rot.Most of the time if the out side of the house looks okay, the inside should be okay (some times) Just remember your looking for whats wrong with the house NOT whats good about the house. Take lots of picture. It will give you and your husband what your family want or need from a house.
Thanks for the suggestions, I wouldnt have thought of the nail thing.
Your welcome.
